6. Installation of panels. 4 Attaching island back panel. Attach temporary blocks to the top of the panel & position it onto the cabinet. Temporarily fix to top of island cabinet then attach panel from inside back of cabinet & remove blocks. 5 Marking the filler scribe panels. Measure the width required at approximately 100mm intervals and as you do so mark the scribe panel. 6 Planning the scribe panel. Temporarily fix the scribe panel to your work bench, or top of base cabinet & plane to line using a sharp electric hand plane . Caution, do not attempt to hold the panel with your hand whilst planning or you could do serious injury to yourself. Tip, You con alternatively cut the panel down using a jigsaw with a downwards cutting blade. 7 Attaching the filler scribe panel. Hold filler panel in position & drill a 2mm pilot hole thru the cabinet and the scribe panel. Then fix in place using 50mm screws . Tip, Place the fixing screws under the centre of the hinge plates.
