44 Luminous flux Luminous ux describes the luminous effciency of a light source and is expressed in lumen (Lm). Parallel circuit In a parallel circuit the current changes while the voltage remains the same. If a single LED fails, all other lights remain lit. This relates to lighting systems with 12 Volt DC and 24 Volt DC. The sockets on the PSU can be freely occupied. Series circuit In a series circuit the voltage changes while the current remains the same. If an LED fails, the whole circuit is interrupted. This relates to lighting systems with 350 mA and 700 mA constant current. Here, each socket must be either occu- pied or bridged. Lighting basics
