Basically, LED lamps must be divided into energy effciency classes. The new classifcation system launched in September 2013 ranges from E to A++. The previous labelling of A to G has been eliminated and highest class has been split into A, A+ and A++. This is owed to the fact that all energy saving lamps and LEDs were assigned to Class A in the old sys- tem, so that it was no longer possible to make distinctions between these lights.
